I created Ridinggravel.com in the fall of 2013 and happily joined with Guitar Ted in late 2014 to form the current day Riding Gravel. Originally from Wisconsin, my wife, 2 kids, spent several years in Colorado, before spending a couple years in North Dakota. Now we're back in Northern Wisconsin in the middle of an Outdoor Mecca.

  1. There is often a significant gap between what a company thinks it needs and what it actually requires for a successful market presence. I spent a few days trying to understand branding services beyond the surface level, looking into how strategy, research, and design all work together to create brand equity. The detailed breakdowns I found on specialized industry sites helped me see that our real issue wasn’t our logo, but our lack of a clear brand voice. This realization changed our entire RFP process. We started looking for agencies that excelled in linguistics and market positioning rather than just visual aesthetics. This change in focus ultimately led to a much more cohesive and effective brand relaunch that truly resonated with our core customers.
