Pedal iSSi Triple Clipless Pedals: Long Term Review-
We received the Pedal iSSi Triple model a while back and told you we liked them HERE. Then we said we’d be thrashing them for the season and telling you how they held up, or not, later on. Well, we have certainly put these pedals through the wringer this Summer. The Dirty Kanza 200 was a mud fest, then Odin’s Revenge was a dusty, dry affair, and there were several other rides all season long culminating in the Gravel Worlds event in Lincoln, Nebraska. Lots of miles, lots of varied conditions, and lots of revolutions on these pedals. So…….how did they hold up?

At the end of the season, the iSSi Triple pedals show some battle scars, but still work well.

At The Finish: The pedals were remarkably smooth and engagement was always consistent throughout. When it comes to pedals, the less attention they attract, the better, and these were the ultimate “invisible” component. I did lubricate the spring mechanisms after the wet, muddy Dirty Kanza 200 back in early June, but beyond that, these received no attention from me in terms of maintenance. I switched these pedals between three different bicycles during the testing period and never had any hiccups with removal or installation.

In our initial review, we said we really liked the pedals but that the only thing unknown about them was their long term durability. Well, four months of solid use may not constitute “long term” in many folks opinions, but I think that it is safe to say that one should not expect these to fail in the longer term, especially for gravel/back road riding. My expectation is that the Triple pedal should last several seasons worth of gravel riding at the least, and for the money these cost versus the benefits of their performance and weight, I would say that these look pretty good from where I sit. I give the Pedal iSSi Triple a high recommendation for best bang for the buck and high performance.

Note: Pedal iSSi sent over the Triple model pedals at no cost to RidingGravel.com for test and review. We are not being bribed, nor paid for this review and we will always strive to give you our honest thoughts and opinions throughout.
