Gravel Grinder News: Shimano Announces New RX8 Gravel Shoe Color – by Guitar Ted

Last year Shimano introduced a new segment to their vast product line. Gravel and all-road cycling represents one of the only growth segments in cycling, and Shimano responded with the GRX group of drive train components and also with the introduction of the RX8 gravel shoe.

Riding Gravel took a look at the RX8 shoes and gave them high marks. (In fact, they have become my personal favorite shoes for riding gravel with) Now Shimano has added a third color to this model in what they are calling “Cactus Berry”. A color inspired by riding in the Southwest. The press release sent to us said:

“The inspiration for this colorful design came from a gravel ride near my house where I was blown away by the beauty of a Santa Rita Prickly Pear Cactus on the side of the trail,” explains Jessie Gascon, Shimano’s Lifestyle Gear Product Manager.

This new color option will be a part of a redesign of 15 road, mountain, and gravel shoes in Shimano’s line. Look for these flashy shoes to become available in September 2020.
